2010 Car Vs Bike Challenge; Bristol Eng. - 14th June 2010:

After hearing of the Bike Vs Motor Vehicle Challenge in Philadelphia, DeanWindsor.com decided to run its own challenge in Bristol England. After the bicycle clearly won in the USA against a bus and a car, the British challenge opted to give the combustion engine an edge putting renowned Billycart champ Dean Windsor in a nippy Renault Clio while the cyclist (Dominque Goddard) had to look cool and casual for the contest riding a Limit commuter Bicycle.

The Race:
Cruising down a cross street straight after the start, the bike took the early lead, however using the classic Brucey Mcfee straight armed low in the seat racing position the billy cart champ soon picked up the calm and stylish Dominque. It was then a case on the bike moving back to the lead at the traffic lights with the car catching up quickly mid block. However that was to change in the Bristol Town Centre (Broad Quay) with Dom taking the cycling short cut and disappearing into the distance.
With the skill of Col McCrae, Windsor got a nice run through the city giving himself a mighty chance of taking the challenge.
The Course:
The Challenge was across the centre of Bristol starting from Clifton and finishing in Bedminster.
The result:
Spinning the Renault into the finishing straight the car crew’s expectation where high only to have them dashed when they caught sight of a cool and composed Dominque waiting for them. Officially the car tool 14min 25sec to complete the trip, while the low stress ride took 10min 55sec.
