Bathurst is famous for Racing; the Bathurst 1000 and the world renowned Mt Panorama is the Main Event on an action packed all sports draw card, which also boasts the Gold Crown Carnival, the Edgells Jog, the B2B Cyclo Sportif, the Soldiers Saddle.....etc etc. So it just makes sense that the latest Phill Bates International Cycling Promotion would start in the Great Race City.
Bathurst set to start the NSW International Grand Prix Series:
It seems very appropriate that the biggest cycling initiative for NSW in decades, “NSW International Grand Prix Series” will start in Bathurst on Wednesday 8 December. The local Bathurst cycling club bragging that the city is the home of cycling in the state with Bathurst resident W.R. George identified as the first cyclist in New South Wales by Sydney Morning Herald in 1870 when he contracted a visiting Blacksmith to build what is thought to be the first bicycle in the state.

Experienced Cronulla riders expected to shine in the 2010 NSW International GP:
The placegetters from recent year’s Cronulla International criterium event are expected to again shine in 2010. Last year Ben Kerstin defeated Graham Brown and Chris Sutton and Rochelle Gilmore won the women event in a real home town result, with all associated to the southern Sydney Suburbs.
The 2008 event was a big promotion carrying the National Criterium Title, Tasmainian star Bernie Sultzberger of Fly V Australia winning the event from Peter McDonald Drapac Porsche and Chris Sutton (Garmin Chipotte) with Graeme Brown (Rabobank) Baden Cooke (Barlowworld) and Bathurst rider Dean Windsor round out the
Cronulla event gives Tobins Cycling Career a kick-start.
